Easy on the eyes
This page turns on Large print and a 12×12 grid, so each letter is printed big and bold on a full Letter or A4 page, and the word list uses larger type in fewer columns. The home and garden word list is calm and familiar: teapot, roses, biscuit, robin, orchard.
For seniors, care homes and memory groups
- Easiest reading: choose a 10×10 grid and Easy, so words only run across and down.
- More challenge: keep large print on and choose Hard; words can then run backwards and on diagonals.
- Personal puzzles: type family names, places or hobbies with “Your own words”. Familiar words make a good conversation starter.
- Activity coordinators: copy the share link to reprint the same puzzle next week, or press “New puzzle” for a fresh one.
Printing tips for large print
Print at 100% (“Actual size”) so the letters keep their full size. Uppercase letters are the default because they are the easiest to tell apart at a glance. Any themed list works in large print too, for example Bible or Christmas.

Frequently asked questions
How big are the letters in the large print word search?
On a 12×12 grid each square is more than half an inch (about 1.5 cm) wide when printed at 100%, with bold letters filling most of it. A 10×10 grid makes them bigger still.
Is the large print word search free?
Yes. Print as many as you need for a care home, library or family, with no account.
Can I use large print with other themes?
Yes. Tick “Large print” with any word list, including your own words.
How do I print it with the answers?
Leave “Answer key on page 2” ticked and press Print / Save PDF. Page 1 is the puzzle, page 2 is the same grid with every word highlighted. Choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to keep a file.
