Spooky words for parties and classrooms
The Halloween list has 40 words, from short ones like bat, mask and cape to longer ones like broomstick, graveyard and jack o lantern. Phrases are hidden without spaces, so “black cat” appears as BLACKCAT in the grid.
Halloween party ideas
- Race to finish: print the same puzzle for every guest (copy the share link so everyone gets an identical grid) and give a treat to the first to find every word.
- Quiet table: keep a stack of 10×10 Easy puzzles on a craft table for younger trick-or-treaters.
- Costume words: type your guests’ costumes with “Your own words” for a personal party puzzle.
Which size to print
A 12×12 grid on Easy suits ages 5–7. For ages 8 and up, 15×15 on Medium is a good middle. Teens and adults can try 20×20 on Hard, where ghosts and goblins hide backwards.
